Launching A New Gaming Site in 2025

A little bit about what’s coming and how you can get notified.

I’ve shared some of this on X and BlueSky, but the last 2 years of running a Gaming Outlet has been rough, watching pageviews drop month-after-month with no end in sight.

It burnt me out. I struggled to find motivation to drive TechRaptor forward.

Until I had a chat with some friends in the industry, and we decided to build something new, on technology I’d never played with before.

Note: This will not be a new gaming outlet. Something VERY different than TechRaptor!

Now I’ve got that “spark” back, and I’ve found renewed energy in building TechRaptor and this new project.

It’s something I’ve wanted to strike out and build for a while now, a platform that’s great for gamers, outlets, developers, and PR.

I found the right people to do it with, and we started building in October, with great progress since then.

It merges together some of the passions that have driven me, things that are at the core of why I’ve invested so much time and energy into TechRaptor.

I’ll vaguely outline our goals with this new site:

  • Showcase new and existing games
  • Help with game discovery
  • Help give Indies more attention
  • Showcase Outlets, especially smaller and minority-owned (and other categories)
  • Help PRs connect to the right reviewers/outlets for their games
  • Help developers increase discovery of their games.

That’s as detailed as I’ll go…for now. We’re aiming to announce in late December/Early January, close to launch.

Here’s my current plan:

  1. Finalize User Features
  2. Finalize Front & Backend Features
  3. Get base pages (about, etc) built
  4. Meet with Outlets and PR to show it off in late December, under NDA.
  5. Prepare a huge “media” push, working with PR to push a press release to gaming sites, as well as other media-focused outreach.
  6. Post-Announcement, connect with more outlets.
  7. Launch it in January (if 100% ready)

I’m keeping this post super vague for a few reasons. The biggest one being we’re just not ready to show this off in full. I’ve met with a few people to show off the very “Alpha” stage of where we’re at, and have gotten positive feedback.

We want to do this right, and we want to launch it in 1.0 status, ensuring that it can pick up momentum from day 1, and find its footing in this industry.

Much like TechRaptor, I don’t have plans to take any money from this new site. We’ll focus all of our revenue into developing and building a team that can manage the growth and expansion of the site.

I just love building. The idea that I can build something new to contribute to growth in the gaming industry has me beyond excited.
